The "Law and Practice Trio – BNS | BNSS | BSA" was released at a live book launch event at the prestigious High Court of Delhi Auditorium. This exclusive event celebrated the unveiling of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA). Each book is designed to serve as an indispensable resource for legal professionals, providing comprehensive analyses of legislative intents, practical implications, and a comparative view with preceding statutes.
The Law and Practice Series (3 vol.) – Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS); Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS); and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) were released in presence of Hon’ble Mr Justice Suresh Kumar Kait, Hon’ble Mr Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani, Hon’ble Mr Justice Jasmeet Singh, Hon’ble Mr Justice Manoj Jain, Hon’ble Mr Justice Saurabh Banerjee, Hon’ble Mr Justice, J. R. Midha (Retd.), Hon’ble Mr Justice Nazmi Waziri (Retd), Sh. Chetan Sharma, Hon’ble Additional Solicitor General of India, Dr. Adish C. Aggarwala – President Supreme Court Bar Association, Sh. Mohit Mathur – President of Delhi High Court Bar Association, Dr Reeta Vasishta Member Secretary -Law Commission of India, Sh. R P Pandey, Director of Prosecution, Dr Arun Mohan, Sh. A P S Ahluwalia, Sh. Hariharan, Sh. Sachin Puri, Sr. Advocates, and other eminent dignitaries at an event held at Auditorium at Delhi High Court on 02.05.2024. The series has been prepared with the laborious efforts of Mr. Saurabh Kansal – Advocate, Prof Dr. Vageshwari Deswal, University of Delhi, and Dr Shruti Goyal, Assoc. Prof. RGNLU, Patiala and has been beautifully compiled by Taxmann Editorial Board followed by publication by the Taxmann Publications.
The event was also attended by Mr Ansh Bhargava, Director, Taxmann Publications Pvt. Ltd.
Each volume of the series articulate legislative intents, legal procedure modifications, practical implications and comparative insights with preceding statutes, serving as critical guides for understanding and applying the complexities of India’s new criminal law landscape.
The first volume provides a comprehensive analysis of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023, with cross-references to the Indian Penal Code 1860. The second volume delves deep into the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita 2023, with cross-references to the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973, while the third provides an overview of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023, referencing the Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
Further, each of these volumes shed light on how penal laws have evolved, the purpose behind each clause of the new legislation, changes and real-time implication in legal procedures as well as the impact of these changes on law enforcement practices. In addition to these, the literature comprises comparative tables for a better grasp of the law, relevant case law references for real-world application, insights into the practical aspects of evidence laws and additional resources for a thorough legislative understanding.
The event also marked an occasion wherein the idea of the Human Rights Division in the High Court was propounded by the Hon’ble Judges.
