SEBI has released a Consultation Paper on a proposal to improve the ease of doing business w.r.t additional disclosure framework for large foreign portfolio investors (FPIs). Under the proposal, SEBI suggested a suitable risk-based threshold for identifying and categorising FPIs as land-bordering countries (LBC) or non-LBC entities. Also, this risk-based approach aligns with the ease of doing business perspective for FPIs to attract foreign capital towards fueling domestic capital formation.
