SEBI has issued a Consultation Paper on ‘Ease of Doing Business by substituting the requirement of attestation of certain documents by a Notary Public or Gazetted Officer with the requirement of self-attestation of documents’. Presently, some SEBI regulations require market participants to submit documents attested by a Notary Public or a Gazetted Officer. Now, SEBI has proposed replacing the Notary/Gazetted Officer attestation with self-attestation for certain documents under specific regulations
