FM Tables Income-Tax Bill 2025 in the Parliament

The FM Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the new income tax bill in parliament on Feb 13, 2025. The bill will be referred to the standing committee for further approval.
The proposed 622-page Income Tax Bill 2025 is set to replace the 65-year-old Income-tax Act 1961. Once enacted, it will be known as the Income Tax Act 2025 and is expected to come into effect in April 2026.
