The time limit for filing ITRs in the case of taxpayers whose accounts are liable for audit is available up to 15th March, 2022. Because of the pandemic and sluggish response of various stakeholders, the time limit for filing the ITR got extended up to this date. Assuming a taxpayer or tax counsel may not be able to meet the timelines, what would be the consequence?
