Revised definition of MSMEs to include retail trade and wholesale trade for priority sector lending: RBI to banks

The RBI has informed banks and Financial Institutions that the Ministry of MSME has decided to include retail and wholesale trade as MSMEs for the limited purpose of priority sector lending and they would be allowed to register on the Udyam registration portal for the NIC codes and activities mentioned against them as Wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, Wholesale trade except for motor vehicles and motorcycles and Retail trade except for motor vehicles and motorcycles
