Now ‘Portfolio Managers’ require prior consent of clients before investing in securities

NOTIFICATION NO. SEBI/LAD-NRO/GN/2022/94, Dated 22.08.2022
SEBI has notified the SEBI (Portfolio Managers) (Amendment) Regulations, 2022. A new clause (pa) w.r.t definition of the related party in relation to a portfolio manager has been inserted. Further, a new regulation has been inserted which requires the portfolio manager to obtain the prior consent of the client before making investments in the securities of its related parties or its associates in such a manner as may be specified by the Board from time to time.
