The CBDT has released data for direct tax collections up to 09-11-2023. The provisional figures of Direct Tax collections continue to register steady growth. The Gross Direct Tax collections are at Rs. 12.37 lakh crore, which is 17.59% higher than the gross collections for the corresponding period of last year.
Net Direct Tax collections at Rs. 10.60 lakh crore mark a 21.82% increase from last year and represent 58.15% of the total Direct Taxes Budget for FY 2023-24. Refunds amounting to Rs. 1.77 lakh crore have been issued from April 1, 2023 to November 9 2023.
