DGFT invites fresh application for import authorization of Water Melon Seeds

Public Notice No. – 41/2015-2020, Dated December 6, 2021

DGFT vide Notification No. 3/2015-2020, dated April 26, 2021 revised the import policy of Melon Seeds under EXIM Code 12077090 from ‘Free’ to ‘Restricted’. In this regard, the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) by exercising the powers of Para 1.03 and Para 2.04 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2015-2020, notified the procedure for import of Water Melon Seeds.

It is provided that the import of impugned goods from January 1, 2022 to March 31, 2022 shall not exceed 15,000 MT. In this regard, the DGFT has invited fresh applications for import authorization for Water Melon Seeds – Other (ITC(HS) 12077090) with effect from December 6, 2021.

It further provides few conditions and guidelines for applying the applications. It is also provided that the monthly/ annual processing capacity and earlier imports of the applicant would be considered while examining the application. The last date for filing the application is December 13, 2021.
